Wertermittlung Dr. Giebelen takes the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with the legal data protection provisions and this privacy statement. Our use of your personal data should always be clear and transparent for you. In this privacy statement, we shall inform you what data we collect from you and on what legal basis, for what purposes we use it and to whom we communicate it.

Duty to provide information when collecting personal data pursuant to European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Art. 13.

Pursuant to GDPR. Art 13, we describe below how we comply with the law when collecting and processing your personal data. Take the time to read the privacy statement carefully – it informs both users and consumers about the manner in which, the extent to which and the purpose for which we collect and use your personal data.

Processing of personal data

It is normally possible to use our website without providing personal data.

f we engage external contractors to deal with technical data processing, they work exclusively on our instructions and in accordance with our requirements, as specified in a data processing contract (GDPR Art. 28).

Legal basis for data processing

The services of Wertermittlung Dr. Giebelen conform to the legal data protection provisions, the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Parts I and II of the Data Protection Amendment and Implementation Act [Datenschutz-Anpassungs- und -Umsetzungsgesetz (DSAnpUG)] and Unfair Competition Act [Gesetz gegen unlauteren Wettbewerb (UWG)] § 7 para. 3 in conjunction with GDPR Art. 95 as a "specific provision" under the ePrivacy Directive (Art. 13 2002/58/EC).

In relation to legal transactions, the legal basis for processing personal data is GDPR Art. 6 para. 1(b) (contracts and pre-contractual steps).

Duration of storage and disclosure of your personal data

Your personal data will be deleted if it is no longer needed for the purposes for which it was collected or otherwise processed (GDPR Art. 17 para. 1(a)). Naturally you also have the right to require that all data from you that we have processed be deleted at your request, provided that no statutory retention period applies.

Your personal data will not be passed on to third parties without your express consent. Nor will it be used for making automated "profiling" decisions. The personal data collected by us will be processed exclusively within the European Union. Disclosure of your data to third countries is permitted only with the express consent of the person concerned.

Your rights regarding your personal data processed by us

You can obtain information about your stored data at any time (GPR Art. 15). If your data is incorrect or was collected unlawfully, you have the right to have it rectified or erased (GDPR Arts. 16 and 17) and also to restrict its processing (GDPR Art. 18). You also have a right of data portability (GDPR Art. 20) and a right of objection (GDPR Art. 21). Your personal data will be erased if the purpose for which it is processed no longer exists and no law or legal reason requiring it to be stored for longer.

Right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority

Without prejudice to any other right of appeal, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you are of the opinion that personal data affecting you is being processed in contravention of statutory requirements.

e-mail Security

If you send us an e-mail, your e-mail address will be used only for correspondence with you and, if applicable, sending out our newsletter. No encryption process is used. Please note that, because of the risk of spying and interception, confidential information should be exchanged over the internet or by e-mail only in an encrypted form.

Log files

The provider (or its webspace provider) collects data relating to every visit to the site (so-called server log files). The access data includes: the name of the web page accessed, the file, the date and time at which it was visited, the volume of data transferred, a report on the outcome of the data retrieval, the web browser type and version, the user's operating system, the referrer URL (the page previously visited), the IP address and the requesting provider.

The provider uses the log data only for statistical evaluations for operational and security purposes and to optimise the site. However, the provider reserves the right to review the log data retrospectively if there are specific grounds giving rise to a justified suspicion that the site has been used unlawfully.

When contacting the provider (for example via the contact form), the user's information is stored for the purpose of processing the enquiry and in case there are further questions. The legal basis for this is GDPR Art. 6 para. 1(f).
